Services

  • Standard electricity, gas and dual fuel tariffs
  • Prepayment meter tariffs
  • Special packages for customers with particular requirements, e.g. elderly, disabled or chronically sick
  • Professionally-installed home insulation for customers receiving priority benefits
  • Renewable energy tariffs with offers (including Airmiles and shopping discounts)

Southern Electric tariffs include:

Electricity General Domestic - General Domestic is one of a range of Southern Electric tariffs designed for homes where little electricity is used during the night

Electricity Economy 7 - Economy 7 discounts the electricity price for 7 hours each night, and is therefore suitable for homes that use over 15% of their consumption at night

Gas Standard - Suitable for all homes with mains gas, there is a standing charge calculated per day and a unit rate.

There is also a tariff available without a standing charge, designed for people who only wish to pay for the energy units they have actually used. The rates are organised into primary, secondary and follow-on rates.

Customers can pay their bills by direct debit, postal order, cash or cheque.

Southern Electric was one of the original electricity boards, known at the time as the Southern Electric Board until a name change in 1990 to Southern Electric plc.

We have just purchased a house and would like to know which energy supplier will give us the best deal for electricity with night store heaters. We would pay by DD and manage on line if that would help. We cannot compare because we do no know previous occupants usage. - Oct 27 2009 4:35PM
