E.ON (formerly Powergen)

E.ON (formerly known as Powergen) is one of the UK’s biggest energy companies and is one of the world's largest investor-owned energy companies. It manages around 9 million electricity and gas accounts, producing electricity from a portfolio of world class power stations. E.ON is also one of the leading names in green generation.

E.ON has been involved in wind energy projects since 1992. It’s now one of the largest developers, owners and operators of windfarms in the UK and still plans to expand on this.

E.ON’s residential energy tariffs

Residential E.ON customers can choose from ten different tariff options. Three of these are offered in partnership with Age Concern and cater for elderly customers on a budget. E.ON also offers a renewable electricity tariff for those who are concerned about the impact of their energy usage on the environment.

E.ON’s standard tariffs offer single fuel or dual fuel options, at capped prices if you wish. You can opt for an online tariff, where you manage your account via the E.ON website and receive bills by email. The EnergyExtra tariff is a combined gas and electricity service with an annual boiler service and safety inspection thrown in.

E.ON’s business energy tariffs

With E.ON’s business gas and electricity tariffs, you receive the following benefits:

  • Fixed prices for the length of your plan, making budgeting easier and more reliable.
  • A range of business plans to choose from, including one and two-year options, or a standard tariff with no tie-ins.
  • Access to E.ON’s free energy efficiency helpline, where specialists can give you advice on cutting your bills.
