British Gas (www.britishgas.co.uk) offers two gas tariffs: Online Energy and Standard. Discounts are available across these tariffs, however the most generous are given to those who opt for a dual fuel package.
British Gas Online Energy (www.britishgas.co.uk) is its cheapest online tariff which gives customers a 4% discount off its standard prices until the end of January 2014.
Savings:
You could save minimum 4% discount against British Gas Standard tariff rates from your typical yearly gas bill by switching your gas to the Online Energy tariff, paperless billing is as standard and the tariff is available to new and existing British Gas customers.
By taking your own meter readings and managing your own account, helps you rule out the chance of being overcharged. You will also be a little bit greener with paperless billing.
It is also important to note that there is no cancellation fee if you decide to switch to another tariff on or before 31st January 2014.
Is it right for me?
Online Energy potentially offers the largest saving in discounts, especially if you opt for a dual fuel package, so if you’re prepared to take meter readings and want to save money, this deal is for you.
The standard gas tariff is available to new and existing customers, and open to customers with credit and prepayment meters.
Discounts:
You could save up to £35 on your typical yearly gas bill.
The standard tariff comes with no cancellation fees or tie-ins (allowing you the flexibility of switching again without incurring costs), and discounts are on offer for customers that show loyalty and opt for a dual fuel deal.
Don't forget
Paying by direct debit and bundling a gas and electricity package may not suit everyone. Online Energy is a more economical option if you can handle managing your own online account.
Is it right for me?
This could be the best tariff for you if the online aspect of Online Energy doesn’t appeal. However if you want to save the maximum amount consider managing your account online as the discount available are far greater. p>
