How do I compare electricity prices?

To compare electricity prices, all you need to do is enter your postcode into the calculator above, indicating whether you need just an electricity tariff or whether you want to look at dual fuel options – both electricity and gas.

You will then be asked to fill in a short and simple form.

When you've done that, you will see a list of available deals showing the savings you could make by switching provider or tariff.

If you like the look of one, all you need to do is click “continue” to switch to your new electricity plan.

You don’t need to do anything else: your new supplier will contact your existing provider and will organise a smooth and efficient switchover.

Tips to cut your electricity bills

Switching to a cheaper electricity tariff is the best way to reduce your bills. However there are other ways you can save money as well.

By simply reducing your energy usage, you will quickly cut your energy bills.

A few ways to do this:

  • Switch standard light bulbs to energy-efficient ones
  • Turn off appliances when not in use (do not leave them on standby)
  • Unplug all unused chargers
  • Buy energy-efficient appliances (fridge, washing machine etc.)

Not only will these tips save you money on your electricity bills, but they’re also good for the environment.
