The tariff

Green energy H2O from Scottish Power promises to match the amount of electricity you use with a supply of clean, green hydro-power - sourced from its stations in Lanark, Galloway and Cruachan - back into the electricity grid.

Switching to Scottish Power green energy H20 doesn’t cost you anything, and if you’re a dual fuel customer you’ll still be able to keep your discount of up to £16.80.

Advantages

• Without costing you any extra you’ll know that all of the electricity you use will be matched with clean, renewable hydro-power going back into the national grid
• And customers taking both their gas and electricity from Scottish Power will be able to keep their discount. However, if you want, you can opt to donate £10.50 of this discount to Scottish Power’s Green Energy Trust - an independent charity supporting renewable energy projects
• Prepayment meter customers can still make a difference by calling 0800 027 7776 and talking to a Scottish Power representative
• Scottish Power also offers advice on how to develop your own green energy products, reduce your energy usage and work out your carbon footprint with its online CO2 calculator.

Disadvantage

• You can’t combine the Scottish Power green energy H20 tariffs with Scottish Power’s online energy service to further help the environment and receive additional discounts.
