Launched in May 2011, the features of the E.ON Fixed Price 5 tariff include:

  • Prices fixed until 1 July 2013
  • 8% discount for dual fuel customers who pay monthly by direct debit
  • Carries a 9% premium on E.ON's standard prices
  • Customers can earn Tesco Clubcard points for money spent on energy
  • Customers can exchange their Tesco Clubcard vouchers for online tokens to pay towards their energy bills
  • No cancellation fee

Is it right for me?

Fixed rates offer peace of mind for the duration of the deal, but that peace of mind comes at a cost - in this case a 9% premium on E.ON's standard prices. This premium essentially insures you against rising energy bills.

Also, if you’re a Tesco Clubcard holder, you earn Tesco Clubcard points for money spent on energy, and can also exchange Clubcard vouchers for online tokens to pay towards E.ON energy bills.

For every £10 of Tesco Clubcard vouchers exchanged for online tokens, E.ON adds 50% and so you will see £15 deducted from your bill. This aspect of the deal makes Clubcard vouchers worth more than their face cash value.

E.ON’s Fixed Price 5 tariff does offer competitive discounts to customers; however to make sure you’re getting the best deal for your needs, you should always compare suppliers using our energy calculator.
