Scottish & Southern Energy supplies electricity and gas under the Southern Electric, Scottish Hydro Electric, SWALEC and Atlantic brands. The Scottish & Southern Energy Group (SSE) was formed in 1999 with the merger of Scottish Hydro-Electric and Southern Electric.
Following the acquisition of SWALEC in 2000 and Atlantic Electric & Gas in 2004, SSE has grown into one of the largest energy supply companies in the UK and now has over nine million customers.

The award will be given to a Scottish organisation that can demonstrate the establishment and success of innovative steps to reduce energy demands in the last 12 months.
