Npower says its new Sign Online 24 tariff offers energy consumers the following benefits:

  • A variable rate that moves with Npower’s standard charges
  • At least 2% cheaper than Npower’s standard charges (namely its new higher prices effective 1 October, 2011 or any subsequent change to them) for the average dual fuel customer
  • Aimed at customers who manage their account online
  • Paid for by monthly direct debit
  • Up to £100 annual direct debit discount

The deal expires 3 February, 2013 and customers then revert to Npower’s standard variable online tariffIs it right for me?

On this particular tariff, prices aren’t fixed or capped, so may vary during the offer period. A standing charge applies to this product and should you change supplier or tariff before 3 February, 2013 an early exit fee of £20 per fuel may apply.

With Sign Online 24 you need to manage your account online, which means you can view your bills, set-up meter read reminders and register for Energy Tracker, a free online tool that lets you record your electricity use over time.

The direct debit discount is applied annually. Continuous payment by monthly direct debit for 12 months entitles you to a discount - £100 if you buy both electricity and gas, £50 if you buy just gas or £40 if you buy just electricity). Your discount will be credited to your account on the last day of the 12th month after you have signed up for the tariff.

The actual discount to Npower’s standard tariff will vary according to fuels taken (gas, electricity or both), by region and by the amount of energy your household consumes.

To make sure you’re getting the best deal for your needs, you should always compare suppliers using our energy calculator.
