Good Energy is the only energy supplier in the country that only provides 100% renewable electricity.
Good Energy is an independent electricity company based in Wiltshire, which has been operating for ten years.
It is the only company in the UK that is dedicated to providing 100% renewable electricity. It says it is on a mission to fight climate change by empowering people to make a difference in the way they use energy.
As well as providing 100% renewable electricity to households, Good Energy also buys renewable energy from individuals.
100% renewable energy
Good Energy only offers one tariff, which consists of 100% renewable electricity.
It sources its sustainable electricity from renewable generators across the country. Methods used to provide this electricity include wind power, hydro power, solar power, wave power and biomass.
Good Energy has over 500 independent renewable electricity generators on its books, plus it has its own wind farm down in Delabole, Cornwall.
Customer service
Good Energy has a UK-based call centre and says when you call, 9 times out of 10 you’ll get straight through to a human being.
It also offers a callback service on its website, where you can request to be called at a time that suits you.
Price
Good Energy says its green electricity is typically more expensive than standard ‘brown’ electricity from other suppliers, because every unit comes from a renewable source.
As with many green tariffs, you will pay a premium for the environmental benefits. If you want to be green, but are worried about the cost, be sure to compare green tariffs to see which offers the best deal in your area.
Selling electricity to Good Energy
If you are generating renewable electricity, even on a small scale, you may be able to sell it to Good Energy.
The company has a variety of schemes that allow you to sell your electricity at a competitive price, however much you are producing - from home generators to community sized schemes.
