In addition to being able to change payment details any time you want via your online account, you’ll also stop receiving paper bills. Instead, you’ll be emailed when your payment is due. You’ll also have to enter your own meter readings - eliminating the need to wait around for an engineer, or run the risk of over-paying on an estimated bill.

Both paperless billing and online meter readings save your energy supplier a lot of money - savings that can then be passed on to you and also cut down the amount of wasted paper.

So by switching to a paperless, online tariff where you pay by monthly direct debit, you’ll be able to take advantage of the biggest discounts and make the biggest savings.

British Gas

WebSaver 3 is the cheapest online tariff in the market offering savings of at least £109 for dual fuel customers, the largest British Gas discount available online.

There’s no tie-in and no cancellation fee so you’ve got nothing to lose by switching to an online tariff. And by giving up paper bills you’ll also be doing your bit for the environment.

Managing your account online means that you can set up and change your direct debit details at ease. It also means you can save time by entering meter readings yourself.
