npower Gas Central Heating Cover

If you’ve ever had to pay for emergency heating repairs you’ll know just how much a busted boiler can set you back. Many people like the peace of mind that boiler insurance gives them.

Find out exactly what is and isn't covered and if npower’s (www.npower.com) gas central heating cover policy is right for you:

Is it right for me?

npower’s gas central heating cover not only covers your boiler, it includes other parts of your heating system too, which can also be costly to repair. However, it doesn’t include your annual safety check, which will cost between £60 and £90 to have done each year.

To decide if this is the right cover for you, simply think about your needs, and compare the monthly cost against other boiler insurance plans on the market. While it’s essential that your annual boiler safety check is carried out, this competitively priced cover might still be cheaper, even after you add on the additional cost.

Remember some plans only cover the actual boiler, but this cover also includes radiator valves, controls and hot water.

You don’t have to be an npower customer to take out npower’s gas central heating cover, which means that if it’s the best cover for you, you can still get it. And you’ll also be able to take advantage of a 10 per cent discount as a new customer, taking your monthly cost down from £11.99 a month to just £10.79

What's isn't covered?

  • You won’t be covered for any problems caused by a failure of public services
  • The first 28 days after application are not covered, so you only get 11 month’s cover in your first year
  • The replacement of the boiler or any appliance is not covered

Don't forget

  • Some central heating plans also include the cost of your boiler’s annual safety check, but npower’s gas central heating cover does not, so you’ll have to pay extra for this. Is it right for me?
