British Gas has launched OnlineSaver 4 - a new online energy tariff that offers a 4% discount against the energy giant’s standard dual fuel deal.
The new OnlineSaver 4 tariff will replace the OnlineSaver 3 tariff from today, and is available to both new and existing British Gas customers.
When signing up for the new deal, customers will get a guaranteed discount of 4% on British Gas’ standard tariff, until 31 October 2012. OnlineSaver 4 customers can also benefit from British Gas’ Energy Smart scheme.

British Gas said of the new tariff: “If you’re used to banking and shopping online, this is a great option. You’ll do all your energy management online, so you’re guaranteed a saving on our standard tariff.”
OnlineSaver 4 is available for people looking to sign-up to gas, electricity or a dual fuel tariff with both energy services.
Under the Energy Smart scheme, customers can submit their own monthly meter reading online, so British Gas can send a bill that’s accurate rather than estimated.
In this way households only pay for the energy they use, and because billing is monthly rather than quarterly, the cost of your energy is spread out over the year.
A free electricity monitor is also included with OnlineSaver 4, so customers can see exactly how much energy their appliances are using at any one time.
With the OnlineSaver 4 tariff, customers must manage their account online, but they are able to change to a different tariff without paying a cancellation fee.
