British Gas Slash Click Energy 5 Prices

British Gas has reduced its Click Energy 5 dual fuel tariff.
British Gas (www.britishgas.co.uk) announced this afternoon that its online dual fuel tariff, Click Energy 5, is to become the cheapest on the market, with immediate effect (08/05/08).
As it stood this morning, the Click Energy 5 tariff was, on average, £10 more expensive than the equivalent npower (www.npower.com) tariff.

The £198 saving is comprised of the following:
- For signing up: Saving of £108
- For paying by direct debit: Saving of £75
- Dual fuel discount: £15
- Total Saving: £198
The Click Energy 5 dual fuel tariff is open to new and existing British Gas Customers.
New and existing customers will benefit from the 8th of May 2008, when the new rates take effect.
Chris Eagle, Commercial Manager at Energy Choices, had the following to say:
‘‘This is a timely energy reduction, especially in the light of so many price rises. For those of you who have not yet switched to an online tariff and don’t pay by direct debit I have one question: why not? Look at the savings to be had if you do. Maybe it’s time to take the plunge?’
