Cutting energy bills is set to become easier as DIY now focuses on eco-improvements.
B&Q is opening its first two eco-stores today, providing DIY help to be more energy efficient.
The stores in New Malden and Sutton in south west London will bring together a range of products from solar water heating to simple draught excluders that will help people to save energy and money on their bills.
A further 60 eco-areas within existing branches are also planned.
B&Q is also training members of staff to become eco advisers and eco experts, with eco advisers being introduced to staff across the country.
B&Q claims the aim of the new stores is to show how simple energy efficient improvements are possible and can make a difference.
B&Q has also issued five energy saving DIY jobs
Loft and cavity insulation can save hundreds of pounds a year on energy bills.
Energy saving lighting can save nearly £40 per year.
Up to 23% of a home’s heat can escape through the gaps.
A hot water cylinder jacket alone could save you £35 a year.
Turning down the thermostat by 1 degree (Becca knows how to do this) could save you 10% of your heating bills.
