E.ON social tariffs

E.ON social tariffs

E.ON, formerly known as Powergen, is one of the UK’s leading integrated power and gas companies. The supplier offers two social energy tariffs: Age Concern and StayWarm. Both cater specifically for the elderly and vulnerable.

E.ON StayWarm

E.ON StayWarm - This tariff is for customers over 60 years of age. Customers must live in a house with 3 bedrooms or less, take both electricity and gas from E.ON and pay by direct debit.

Benefits

  • Customers have a fixed energy price for 12-months from when you sign up
  • Customers receive free energy efficiency advice
  • Customers eligible for deals on home insulation.

Is this right for me?

If you want a fixed price on your dual fuel tariff for 12-months this is a good option for over-60 customers. For the first year of your contract you will always know what to budget for your energy service. Keep in mind your tariff could go up after your initial contract period.

Don’t forget

StayWarm is only for households with 4 people or less people living in the home, that do not use very large amounts of energy. The amount of energy use needed for this tariff depends on the property size and location of the home.

E.ON Age Concern

E.ON Age Concern – This tariff offers discounts on electricity and gas needs of older people. This tariff is available for gas customers aged 60 and over.

Benefits

  • A guaranteed cold weather payment of £10 for all gas customers
  • Gas customers aged 60 or over may receive an additional amount based upon the number of days the temperature is below freezing between December and February
  • A year's free supply of carbon monoxide detectors
  • A free early warning hypothermia thermometer
  • Four free low energy light bulbs
  • Free UK customer service helpline, answered by a person not a machine
  • Free energy efficiency advice and offers of discounted energy saving measures

Is this right for me?

This tariff seems to have a lot of benefits, but if you can pay your bills via direct debit we recommend that you go with the StayWarm tariff for even more savings. You can save up to 3% discount off your bills if you're a single fuel customer. Take out gas and electricity with E.ON, pay by fixed monthly direct debit and you can save 9% off of your bills. If you currently do not pay via direct debit we would suggest you consider switching to this payment method for greater discounts.
