Advantages

As well as getting one of the most trusted names in the market, customers who switch to British Gas Business Gas could save up to 15% on bills.

In addition all British Gas Business customers benefit from a personalised service, with their own dedicated account manager just a phone call away.

Its Fixed Term, Fixed Price contracts offer peace of mind, with a stable price for the length of your contract and you’ll also have access to free energy efficiency advice, helping you to save even more money, by cutting down your energy consumption and helping the planet at the same time.

You have the option to pay by either Direct Debit or BACs, but paying by Direct Debit means that you’ll never miss a payment and you’ll also be able to take advantage of even more savings.

Finally, all contracts are portable, so you won’t incur any hidden costs if you decide to move premises.

How do I switch?

Switching to British Gas Business is easy - just fill in a simple form to get your quote and apply online, and British Gas will take care of all the paperwork and make sure that your switch goes as smoothly as possible.

It usually takes between six and eight weeks for your switch to go through, but customers should check that they’re not currently tied to a different supplier as business energy contracts usually last between two and five years.

What tariffs are available?

Three types of contract are available for British Gas Business Gas:

  • Firm contracts: These contracts offer a fixed price for a fixed term and are the most popular contract
  • Interruptible contracts: These contracts offer a lower price than firm contracts, but qualifying customers - who use less than 200,000 therms per year - must agree to interruptions in their gas supply, sometimes at short notice but only to an agreed maximum number of days per year
  • Tailored agreements: If your business has particularly high usage needs, or other unique requirements, British Gas Business will tailor a contract to your individual needs.

Is this the right package for me?

British Gas Business offers competitive prices with savings of up to 15%, a high standard of customer service, with it’s “jargon free” policy and dedicated account managers, so if you’re looking for a new energy supplier for your business, British Gas is a competitive choice.

Things to look out for

You should always read the small print before signing any contract, but do make sure that you know exactly how long your contract will run for, and whether or not you have to comply with a set notice period before switching away to another provider.

Also find out if you’ll have to pay an exit fee if you want to leave before your contract is fully expired, and how much this will be.
